Memory of Manu

The Tattoo That Held Both Our Names

A magical tattoo design created by our dear friend Rakesh, where one side carried Monika and, when flipped, it became Trilok — a symbol of two names becoming one story.
Friends and Memories Love and Symbols Manu and Tik Our Story

Some designs are not made only with ink. Some are made with friendship, love and a little magic.

This tattoo was designed by Rakesh, a very good friend of ours and a tattoo artist who understood the feeling behind it.

At first glance, the design reads as Monika.

But when it is flipped, it reveals Trilok.

That was the magic of it.

Two names. Two lives. One design.

We had decided to get this tattoo done, but life kept moving, and somehow we never did. Now when I look at it, it feels like an unfinished wish — but not an empty one.

Even without touching the skin, the design stayed with us. It became a symbol of what Manu and I were to each other.

Not separate.

Not ordinary.

Interwoven.

Her name carried mine. Mine carried hers.

Rakesh gave shape to something that words could not fully explain. The tattoo was not just about Monika and Trilok. It was about the way love changes identity — how two people can remain themselves and still become part of one another.

We never got the tattoo done.

But the meaning remains.

Maybe some designs do not need skin to become permanent.

Some are written directly into the heart.
